Product Description

Islam places great emphasis on respecting and dignifying seniors, whether they are Muslims or not. Therapeutic relationships between individuals are an elemental aspect of our faith, with a special focus on maintaining good relations with elders.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was a pioneer in this field. He taught caring for the elderly irrespective of sex, color, or religion, and he himself set a great example in practicing the principles he taught. We as Muslims must strive to emulate his teachings and actions and uphold the principles and values expected of us with respect to respecting and caring for our elders.

“He is not one of us who does not show tenderness to the young and who does not show respect to the elder.” [Hadith from at-Tirmidhi].

Statistics reports of Ontario shows that the number of seniors aged 65 and over in Ontario is expected to more than double, from 13.7% or 1.8 million people in 2009 to 4.2 million or 23.4%, by 2036.
